Guedes 7 8 Departments of Animal Science and Veterinary Biosciences, University of 9 Minnesota, St. Paul 55108 10 11 ABSTRACT: A disease challenge experiment was conducted to determine if 12 including 10% DDGS in the diet, with or without antimicrobial supplementation, 13 reduces the incidence and/or severity of intestinal lesions in growing pigs after a L. 14 intracellularis challenge. One hundred 17-d old weaned pigs were blocked by sex 15 and weight and randomly allotted to one of five treatment groups: negative control 16 (NC) unchallenged, corn-soy diet; positive control (PC) challenged, corn-soy diet; 17 10% DDGS diet (D) – challenged; positive control with antimicrobial regimen (PC + 18 A) – challenged; and 10% DDGS diet with antimicrobial regimen (D + A) 19 challenged.
